1st Ride on the Car

Well...it took some work but John finally convinced the little guy at Wal-Mart to give us the axle that we were missing. We got home and finished putting the car together. As you can see, Samuel loves to be pushed in his car. We ride all over the house. He holds onto the steering wheel and even tries to beep the horn. He is so cute. I am not sure who is happier...John or Samuel!!!!!!!!!!!
Now all we need is a big cousin to help push him around. Any takers....................

Wake Up, Wake Up Sleepy Samuel

I went in to get Samuel the next morning and this is what I found. He was sideways in his crib. As you can see...not one blanket was over him..so much for trying to keep him warm. Look at his eyes! It takes him a little bit to wake up in the morning.

Dont You Hate When Things Do Not Go Your Way

We got home from Wal-Mart with his car and ice cream. We were all supper excited. Well...as it turned out we were missing one crucial part...the Axle. Why could we not be missing something simple like the stickers. Samuel and John was so upset that they could not put the car together.
Samuel was not too happy to sit on a car that would not move.
We explained to him that we would go back to Wal-Mart the following day to get his axle. As it turned out Samuel fell asleep before he was able to get any ice cream. Poor thing...his 6 month birthday did not turn out to well...mom was late leaving work, missing part to his new toy, and no ice cream. We must do better for his 1 year birthday. I guess this was our trial run!

6 Month Birthday

Last week we celebrated Samuel's 6 month birthday. I took this picture just before leaving for daycare. As you can see, he is not really into taking pictures at 6:45 in the morning. Who can blame him?
John and I promised Samuel to leave work at 3:30 and spend the entire afternoon and evening with him: no cooking, no cleaning, no washing clothes, no bottle making, etc. John did just as promised I however did not leave until 3:45. I felt like a terrible mother! We did do as planned. We ordered pizza and played the rest of the night.
We did make one detour...to Wal-Mart. John decided Samuel needed a little plastic car to ride around in and ICE CREAM.

What You Find When You Come Home From Work-Scary

I came home from work one day a few weeks ago to find this. Samuel was asleep in the recliner. I dont remember how John said he got this way. It was so cute but a little scary at the same time...1 roll and that is all she wrote however I know John was close by and would NOT let anything happen to Samuel.

Updates!!!!!

So much has happened since I last blogged. Samuel is now 5 months old. He has started solid foods. So far he has liked everything we have given him. He now sits up in his high chair to eat. He seems to enjoy sitting at the table with us while we eat.

He is not yet sleeping through the night. Oh well, maybe one day! He loves to stand up while holding your fingers. I do think he will be walking soon. I guess we are going to skip crawling.

Well, I guess I need to go. Samuel is waking up and dinner is almost ready. I have enjoyed my break with Samuel and it is going to be hard to go back to work. I have tried very hard to get John to let me stay home but the bills say otherwise. So off to school I go Monday morning. Samuel will report back to daycare on Monday. I must say he loves to go. They seem to be really good to him. I guess I can not ask for anything else right now. John promises me one day I will be able to be a stay at home mom...maybe before Samuel goes away to college:)!

Like Father Like Son

We have looked high and low for a visor for Samuel. We just can not seem to locate one. Today, John made his fit Samuel. I have to say...Samuel looks so MUCH like John. We have a picture of John when he was about 4 and the expression on John's face is just like the expression on Samuel's face. Too funny!!!

Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas! We were able to spent an entire week in SC. We were able to spend lots of time with friends and family.

Here is a picture of our tree this year. John thought we should go with the $29.88 tree this year. I did not think this was such a good idea but it worked out fine. We were late putting up the tree and we did not even spend Christmas at our house so...the tree was perfect for the week that it was up.

Samuel enjoyed the season. Next year will be even better!!!!!!!!! I cant wait!

As you can see, Samuel had a great Christmas even though he slept through the big events on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Thanks to Aunt Jill we were able to start a new tradition with our family. She gave us this cute Santa cookie plate. Thank you Aunt Jill.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Sorry I am a little behind! Samuel "made" this headdress at daycare. If you look closely, you will see the feathers are Samuel's footprints. How cute!!!!!!!!! As you can see Samuel still likes his fingers.

First Date

Okay, no not really. We had dinner a few months ago with some friends. They happen to have a child a few months older than Samuel. Samuel had fun playing with his new friend. The two were so funny. They just looked at each other and smiled a lot. We hope they will become close friends one day!
