Samuel has been busy at daycare. He painted his first picture last week. He went to the pumpkin patch today and he is going trick or treating the Friday before Halloween. I think John is going to be one of the parents who goes to help out. I have to work. :) I will get him to take pictures. It should be cute!

Off to Church We Go
Samuel and I (and John when he is off) have been going to church. The first couple of Sunday's I kept Samuel with me. I decided to put him in the nursey last Sunday because he was too much of a destraction. I am really enjoying my Sunday School class. Several of the ladies I work with are in the class.
Dont you think Samuel looks so cute. John HATES this outfit. I have decided I am going to dress him cute as long as I can....everyone tells me it wont last long. So.. I am enjoying it while I can.
Oh, I guess I should tell you about the adventure in the church nursery. Boy, I am learning so much being a mother. When I left him I told them not to give him the bottle because it was old. I gave it to him before I went to Sunday School and there was a little left. ( So it was only about an hour and a half old. ) I took my little beeper and went to worship. I felt so good when church was over because they did not have too beep me. Well, when I walked into the nursery the lady was holding Samuel. She was walking around with him. She told me that she had beeped me about 15 minutes earlier. I never heard the beeper. I later realized that I would not hear it because it only vibrated. How out of it can you get? I then learned that she gave the rest of the bottle to Samuel. I went running home and I mean running home because I walked to church. I called Jill to see if Samuel was going to die from drinking old milk. She quickly assured me that he would be fine. Man...what a scare.

With Water In My Eyes We Are Off
Last week was Samuel's first day at daycare. Up until this point Samuel has been at home with grandparents. We were so lucky but the time has come for him to go to daycare. I spent hours the night before getting everything ready...my pocketbook, my school bag, my lunch, my clothes, the car seat, baby bag, Samuel's clothes, the pump, and the cooler with milk. We got up extra early to make sure we had enough time even though I have been practicing for a week. You know to make sure I could get all of this done and get work on time. The morning went off beautifully. I got ready and got Samuel ready. I got to daycare a little before 7:00. Oh, did I mention that it was pouring down rain and I had to walk through 3 inches of water to get to the car. :) I drove the tenth of a mile to daycare and got out with a heavy heart. I walked in a little excited and a little sad. Keep in mind I had to do all of this by myself. John had to leave for work at 5:30. I walked in to see that Samuel was the first baby in his class to arrive. I unload him and his stuff. I gave all the direction I could think of...like they had never taken care of a baby before. Just as I gave Samuel a kiss goodbye I began to cry. I walked to the car and called John. I am not sure that John even heard anything I said through the tears. I got to school and emailed the center to see how he was doing. I continued to email all day. Needless to say...Samuel did fine. Oh yeah, John picked him up at 1:30. He got off early because of the rain.
I have to say I have made my load smaller. I now leave the pocket book in the car and I dont bring home any work. I never did it anyway. I dont carry a cooler for the milk because I can see the center from my house. I dont think the milk is going to spoil on the 2 minute drive to the center.

First Camping Trip
John, Samuel and I went camping this weekend. This was Samuel's first trip. We went to a state park close by the house. We only stayed Friday night. We wanted to see how Samuel would do. Samuel loved being outside. We went for a walk through the woods and we built a campfire. Samuel loved sitting in his chair looking at the fire. He was amazed my the shadows that the fire made. I guess we will try it again sometime. :)
