Update from the Doctor-38 Weeks

John and I went to the doctor today for a routine visit. However, we did not get great news. My blood pressure was high again. In fact I was told to lie down for a while and my blood pressure was taken again. It went down some but it was still high. I had a small trace of protein in my urine and my hands and feet are swollen. The doctor said all of these were signs for concern but not bad enough to put me in the hospital at this time. He is going to monitor me closely for the rest of the pregnancy. The nurse drew blood to have a baseline for future reference. The doctor reminded me again how important it is for me to continue to rest. I go back in a week for everything to be rechecked and a stress test will be preformed on the baby. I will update you as new details or events take place.

38 Weeks

Well, several of you have asked for an updated picture. Here it is. Sorry the hair and face look so bad. This picture was taken after a long afternoon at the doctor. Two more weeks to go.... will I make it????

Celebrating 4 Years of Marriage

Today John and I will be celebrating our 4th Anniversary although we have been together for almost 11 years. I can't believe it! Like all married couples we have had may laughs and cries together. As I sit and think over the years we have been together 4 main events come to mind. These events are in no certain order just how they have come to mind as I sit here thinking.

1) Our camping trip to highest point on the Blue Ridge Parkway in the middle of November. Do I need to add that it was VERY cold?
2) Our honeymoon in the middle of Hurricane Emily-I turned into Mother Hen gathering food and you broke out of the "Shelter" to beg the hotel manager to give us a room. After trying for what seemed like days... you finally got us a room. The week turned out to be wonderful but the first few days were rocky. Do I need to mention the bus ride into the city! :)
3) You know Christmas is my favorite time of year. You always try to make it special for me by playing "Santa" and putting my gift out under the tree. It is always there even when I get up at 2:30 in the morning like a little child. I love to see the smile on your face as I jump up and down with excitement!
4) Our move to Georgia- You kept telling me it would be fine and you were right. What an adventure it has been with the fleas, termites, giant black grasshoppers, and the tornado!

Okay.......maybe I meant 5 memories!

My all time favorite memory is last November when we went skiing in the mountains and we found out we were going to have a baby. The expression on your face was priceless. I will hold this memory forever. I never would have imagined how great you would have been through this whole pregnancy and bed rest stuff. I cant wait to see you with our new baby. I know you will be amazing...."John, I am not -------- you!"

Being married to you these last 4 years has far exceed my expectations. I cant wait to see what the next four years will bring. Thank you for loving me! You bring out the best in me!

Thank you to all that celebrated with us at our wedding 4 years ago! You helped make it special!! Thank you to our parents who made our wedding possible and first teaching us how to love.

Paint For The Baby's Room

The baby's room is finally getting a fresh coat of paint. John and a friend of ours got the first coat on last night. As you can see it is a work in progress. John came home at 6:30 last night and painted until 9:00. Bless his heart! I think the second coat and trim will be done tonight. I can't complain or say anything because I can not help paint at all. I sit and watch from the living room chair and, oh yeah, keep the glasses full!!!!!!!! There might be a few more surprises coming with the room so stay tuned for more pictures. I can't wait! The room already looks so much better.

New Car!!!!!!!!

Well, all of you that know me know that I drove a 2 door car. I loved my car. I felt so cool driving my car. Notice I said felt cool not looked cool. However, I have not been able to drive my car since April due to bed rest. John and I quickly learned that the 2 door car was not going to work for the baby. We began talking and looking at cars back around Jan. The car search came to a stand still in April. In June, I began looking at cars online. Since I have been pregnant, I have not been able to make a decision about anything. This has made the car search terrible.

Friday, John and I decided we had to do something and quick. We left the doctor's office thinking we were going to buy a SUV. However, when we got to the car lot I changed my mind. We ended up buying a Honda Accord.

I am happy with my choice even though I can not drive right now. I just look out the window at the car. John has had the pleasure of driving it.

I was quite sad to see my old car go. Dad drove the car back to SC to try to sell the car. Who knows........I might end up with both cars when it is all sad and done.

I will have to say I was very happy to finally get the car seat in the car. It has been sitting in my living room floor for weeks.

Bless John's heart........he had to put the seat in twice. After he had it in the first time, I found the protective seat cover that needed to go under the car seat. So... he took the seat out and put it back in again. Thank you Honey!!!!!!!!!
She said, "Now we are ready to go to the hospital. We have the new car, the car seat, the suit case, and the large Clemson water mug."
He said, "Caroline, I told you we did not need to put the car seat in the car months ago. If I had, I would have just had to take it back out!"

37 Week Update

John and I went to the doctor Friday. My blood pressure was okay and I had only gained one more pound. The baby's head has dropped lower and his/her heartbeat still sounds great. The doctor feels the baby is about 7 pounds. It was so great to hear since we were at risk of an early delivery with a 1-3 pound baby. God is amazing!

I will post a new picture Friday.

Grandmama said, "I cant believe how much bigger you have gotten in the last 2 weeks. It looks like you have ate a pumpkin."

He said, "Our doctor is the best. She lives on a farm."

She said, "21 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!"

36 Week Doctor Update

We went to the doctor today. Not much has changed. I am still only dilated 1 cm. My blood pressure was up a little. The doctor was not too concerned. He said we would just monitor it for the next week or so. I go back in a week. I will let you know how it goes.

36 Weeks

I got up this morning and realized there are no pictures of John and I together during this pregnancy. So... we had to take a picture today.
