Cake Anyone!!!!!!!!!

Okay! Let me explain. Last night after supper I really wanted something sweet to eat. Of course we had nothing. John looked high and low for cake mix or brownie mix. I guess he was searching so hard because it was rain hard outside and I did not want to go out in the rain. He called his mother to see if she remembered seeing any brownie mix at the house. She said she did not but she knew how to make a small cake in a coffee cup that you cooked in the microwave. Yes I said coffee cup and microwave. She emailed John the directions and he began.

This was my view from the couch. John is getting ready to put the coffee mug into the microwave to "bake". You cant see if very well but there is a large smile on his face. He loves to try new things.
Once again, my view form the couch. The cup is being put into the microwave. And we are off.........

And this is the final product! It is not beautiful but very good and easy. All it needed was icing! I am sure we will be trying this cake in a cup in the near future. Please let me know if you would like recipe. I would be happy to share. I am sure those of you with little children would love to try this at home.
She said, "it is the next best thing to fudge brownies!"
He said, "I thought it was going to exploded!"

Baby's First Keepsake

The picture is hard to see but this is a new penny that will be released soon. The penny is dated with the year 2009. This is the year the baby will be born. My mom got this new penny for the baby. I can't wait to show this penny to the baby one day.
Once again the picture is hard to see but this is the back of the new penny. The new pennies will have a picture of a log cabin on the back. I thought is was an extra special gift. Thank you mom!

Oh Boy, Cake!

This cake was intended for my baby shower at school. However, the shower was canceled due to the doctor placing me on bed rest. A very talented teacher at school made the cake. She decided to make the cake anyway.
This is the top view of the cake.

This is the side view of the cake.
Caroline said, "How sweet! It is so cute! I can't believe she went to so much trouble. I cant wait to taste the cake."
John said, "I am going to get fat!!!!!!!!"

My First Mother's Day

John tried very hard to make my first mother's day special even though he had to work all day. He worked from 6:00 to 4:30 but he still managed to bring me flowers and a card. The card was very sweet and he even remembered to make the card from our unborn baby. How thoughtful!!!! He cooked supper and did a load of clothes. I will always remember my first mother's day. Thank you for making the day special for me. I am still wondering how I am going to be able to pull off father's day since I am still on bed rest. Any suggestions?

Message from a Friend

A good friend sent me this message in an email. I can not attach the pictures so I am only going to paste the message. If you want the entire email just let me know and I will forward it to you. The pictures make the message more powerful. Joanie you will never know what this email meant to me.

Whatever your cross,
whatever your pain,
there will always be sunshine, after the rain....
Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall;
But God's always ready, to answer your call....
He knows every heartache, sees every tear,
a word from His lips, can calm every fear...
Your sorrows may linger, throughout the night,
But suddenly vanish, by dawn's early light...
The Savior is waiting, somewhere above, to give you His grace, and send you His love.
May God fill your day with blessings!!

Awesome!! We complain about the cross we bear but don't realize it is preparing us for the dip in the road that God can see and we cannot.
Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle!

7 Month Picture

This picture was taken after a long 4 hour visit to the doctor.

Update

I had a follow up appointment on Friday. And can I say that I was so happy to be getting out of the house even if it was to go to the doctor. I had to redo the glucose test becasue the last test came back high. This time I had to do the three hour test. I will not hear from the glucose test until next week. I will let you know when I hear the results. In addition to the glucose test, I had a rhogam shot.
It was also time to redo the fetal cell test. The test came back negative, which is good. This means they are 99% certain that I will not go into labor in the next 2 weeks. Yes!!!!!!!! The doctor checked my cervix again and she said she thought it my be a little better due to the bed rest. However, the cervix is still thin and the baby's head is still very very low. Because of these factors, the doctor feels that I am still at risk of going into labor prematurely. There is a chance that I could go full term but the doctor is doubtful. So...I am still on bed rest. The good news is I made it to 7 months. I am clear of the micropremie stage. Each week I hang on the better the babies chances are of having fewer complications. I go back to the doctor in two weeks for another exam and I will once again have the fetal cell test.

We now have Clemson Mugs!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Patrick and Kelley for the Clemson mugs. We are so thankful. The Georgia mug will now be replaced. In fact, we are going to send you the Georgia mug. You should see the large smile across John's face.

Caroline said, "You mean I have been drinking 2 of those large mugs a day. No wonder I spend all night in the bathroom."

John said, "The baby will use one of the small cups for a sippy cup."
