Camping Again!

We headed off a few weeks ago on our second camping trip with Samuel. Once again he did great! Uncle Cale, Aunt Shanna, Cale and Kayla meet us at the campground. It was so good to see them all. We had the best time.

Poor Samuel had to sleep in his seat part of the time. We did not have room for his portable crib.
Ssmuel got to go to the playground for the first time. I dont think he knew what was going on.

Cale and Kayla worked hard all day building this fire pit by the lake. They were so excited to build a fire. Their fire was really better than ours. Sorry John!

I was very proud of their pit!

Halloween Night Wear

Samuel was very festive during the Halloween season thanks to Uncle Andy and Aunt Jill. Thank you!

Pumpkin Picking

Samuel went to the pumpkin patch with daycare. He got to "pick out a pumpkin". This was the pumpkin he picked. It was a little heavy for him to hold so Dad had to give him a little help. I must say I was very proud. Wow, being a mom is so much fun.

Happy Halloween!

Samuel and I went to SC Friday night. We got to celebrate Papa's birthday and go to the fall festival at FBC. It was wonderful to see everyone again.

Samuel was a horse for Halloween! He was so hot in his suit. I had to take it off of him early.
The girls were dressed like Indians. They were so cute. How fitting... a horse and Indians!!!!! It was not planned....I promise!

My New Favorite Picture

I must say this is a sweet picture. I took this picture the other night while we were cooking supper. John was sitting on the floor talking to Samuel. Samuel fell asleep holding John's hand. Too Sweet! Sorry I could not turn the first picture.

Samuel's First Painting

Samuel has been busy at daycare. He painted his first picture last week. He went to the pumpkin patch today and he is going trick or treating the Friday before Halloween. I think John is going to be one of the parents who goes to help out. I have to work. :) I will get him to take pictures. It should be cute!

Off to Church We Go

Samuel and I (and John when he is off) have been going to church. The first couple of Sunday's I kept Samuel with me. I decided to put him in the nursey last Sunday because he was too much of a destraction. I am really enjoying my Sunday School class. Several of the ladies I work with are in the class.

Dont you think Samuel looks so cute. John HATES this outfit. I have decided I am going to dress him cute as long as I can....everyone tells me it wont last long. So.. I am enjoying it while I can.

Oh, I guess I should tell you about the adventure in the church nursery. Boy, I am learning so much being a mother. When I left him I told them not to give him the bottle because it was old. I gave it to him before I went to Sunday School and there was a little left. ( So it was only about an hour and a half old. ) I took my little beeper and went to worship. I felt so good when church was over because they did not have too beep me. Well, when I walked into the nursery the lady was holding Samuel. She was walking around with him. She told me that she had beeped me about 15 minutes earlier. I never heard the beeper. I later realized that I would not hear it because it only vibrated. How out of it can you get? I then learned that she gave the rest of the bottle to Samuel. I went running home and I mean running home because I walked to church. I called Jill to see if Samuel was going to die from drinking old milk. She quickly assured me that he would be fine. Man...what a scare.

With Water In My Eyes We Are Off

Last week was Samuel's first day at daycare. Up until this point Samuel has been at home with grandparents. We were so lucky but the time has come for him to go to daycare. I spent hours the night before getting everything ready...my pocketbook, my school bag, my lunch, my clothes, the car seat, baby bag, Samuel's clothes, the pump, and the cooler with milk. We got up extra early to make sure we had enough time even though I have been practicing for a week. You know to make sure I could get all of this done and get work on time. The morning went off beautifully. I got ready and got Samuel ready. I got to daycare a little before 7:00. Oh, did I mention that it was pouring down rain and I had to walk through 3 inches of water to get to the car. :) I drove the tenth of a mile to daycare and got out with a heavy heart. I walked in a little excited and a little sad. Keep in mind I had to do all of this by myself. John had to leave for work at 5:30. I walked in to see that Samuel was the first baby in his class to arrive. I unload him and his stuff. I gave all the direction I could think of...like they had never taken care of a baby before. Just as I gave Samuel a kiss goodbye I began to cry. I walked to the car and called John. I am not sure that John even heard anything I said through the tears. I got to school and emailed the center to see how he was doing. I continued to email all day. Needless to say...Samuel did fine. Oh yeah, John picked him up at 1:30. He got off early because of the rain.
I have to say I have made my load smaller. I now leave the pocket book in the car and I dont bring home any work. I never did it anyway. I dont carry a cooler for the milk because I can see the center from my house. I dont think the milk is going to spoil on the 2 minute drive to the center.

First Camping Trip

John, Samuel and I went camping this weekend. This was Samuel's first trip. We went to a state park close by the house. We only stayed Friday night. We wanted to see how Samuel would do. Samuel loved being outside. We went for a walk through the woods and we built a campfire. Samuel loved sitting in his chair looking at the fire. He was amazed my the shadows that the fire made. I guess we will try it again sometime. :)

I Can't Believe I Am Posting This Picture

I guess it is true. Most of the time moms are never in pictures. John's parents made me take this picture. I look terrible. What can I say...I am busy from sun up to sun down........no time to fix myself up. No not really but I do shower once I get home before I pick up Samuel. I am trying to keep the germs away from him. I am glad to have the picture. This is one of the two pictures we have off the whole family. I most start taking more pictures of the three of us.

A Few Pics of the Growing Boy

Samuel waving to the camera.

Samuel giving us a little laugh.

9 Weeks Old

Samuel is now 9 weeks old. He went to the doctor last Friday for his 2 month check up. His doctor says he is perfectly healthy. Samuel now weighs 11 lbs. 10 oz. The doctor guesses Samuel will be about six feet one inches when he grows up. We have a big boy on our hands. Samuel is holding his head up very well now. I am so glad. I worry about him getting a flat head.

Enjoying Time With Grandpappy

Samuel loves to be talked to. The more you talk to him the more he smiles. He is beginning to make little soft sounds. It is so sweet!

2 Week Old Pictures

I can not believe how much Samuel has changed over the last two weeks. It will be interesting to go to the doctor to see how much he has grown!

Where Is My Mind?

I had a follow up doctor's appointment this week to check my blood pressure. I checked the appointment card Sunday night to make sure I had the correct time. I had to be in Athens at 8:45 Monday morning. Sunday night I got the diaper bag ready, car seat out, and I got out my clothes and Samuel's clothes. I got up bright and early to make sure we had plenty of time. Monday morning came and I was able to shower, dress, dress Samuel, feed Samuel, pump, and redress Samuel. I was so proud of myself because when I got in the car I was only running 5 minutes late. I pulled into the parking lot of the doctor's office at 8:40. Keep in mind I was still feeling very proud of myself. Mom and I got out and carried Samuel into the office. I signed in on the clipboard and had a seat. I was sitting in the chair thinking I might be able to handle this parent thing when I heard this sweet little voice call my name. I walked back up to window and the sweet little girl said,"Mrs. Hunt we have you scheduled for tomorrow morning at 8:45." I was so embarrassed. Thankfully, the doctor went ahead and saw me on Monday so I did not have to come back. Needless to say, when I checked the card Sunday night I never looked at the date.

The good news is that my blood pressure was finally back down!

Assortment of Pictures

Hangign Out!
Samuel loves to hear music. He really likes to hear John play music for him.

First Family Picture

First visit with Grandma and Granddaddy Hunt

Hanging out with Grandmama

1 Week Old Picture

First Walk with Aunt Jill

First Bath

John has made himself in charge of bath time. This is fine with me because I do not like to make him cry. I get to be the assistant. John really does a great job with Samuel. I could not ask for a better Dad for my son.

First Trip to the Doctor

We had to take Samuel to the doctor on Thrusday. He got a clean bill of health. In fact, the doctor said he was a boring healthy baby. We are so thankful!

First Night Home

This picture was taken this first night we were home. He slept all day until we put him in the craddle. As you can see, his eyes opened wide and he began to cry. He was up every 2 hours either eating or crying.

Coming Home From the Hospital

This picture was taken right before we left the hospital. I just love his outfit. I cant wait to dress him up in it again!

Like Father Like Son

This picture was taken the second night in the hospital. John and I were both VERY tired.

First Footprints

Cale is pointing out Samuel's footprints on John's "coach shirt".
